So I just learned today that I have been offered a position as a English Teaching Assistant in Austria! I have been assigned to a few schools in a village called Bischofshofen, which is about an hour outside of Salzburg. I plan on living in Salzburg, as the commute to this village looks doable.
I hadn’t expected to hear anything until late April, so when I opened my email at work and saw that email and opened it and saw the good news, I was overcome with emotion. This is the third time I’ve applied for this assistantship. The first time was in 2009, and I was rejected right away. Last year, I was an alternate, but was unfortunately not offered a position. Seeing the news today, I started tearing up right away. Maybe an extreme emotion, but it’s been a long journey for me to get this.
Now there is so much to do and I feel so overwhelmed! Right now, I’m just trying to bask in the glory of it.
